How we compare online clinics
findonline.care is a comparison and discovery service. This page explains what we compare, where the information comes from, and what we do – and refuse to do – with commercial relationships.
Methodology last updated: 4 October 2026
What we compare
The clinic is the unit we compare – not a medicine. A clinic can operate in several countries and offer different treatments, prices and terms in each. For medical weight loss we aim to compare:
- Clinic price, introductory offer, setup fee, binding and cancellation – as structured data, with currency and billing period
- Whether consultation, follow-up, prescription renewal and medicine are included. Medicine is never assumed to be included
- Fully online or hybrid; video, phone or chat; doctor involvement; other professionals; continuity of doctor
- Follow-up frequency, support availability and response time
- Regulatory registration and our verification checks
- Patient reviews, shown with platform and collection date
- Languages, countries served and treatments offered
Where information comes from
Facts are collected from official registries, health authorities, professional registers, the clinic's own website, terms and pricing pages, review platforms and other public sources. Each source record keeps its URL, type, publisher, retrieval date and notes.
Important facts are stored with field-level provenance: the value, the source, when it was checked and when it is due for re-checking. Not every source is displayed prominently, but the trail is kept internally and shown in each clinic's verification details.
Unknown stays unknown
If we have no reliable information, the field says “Unknown”. We do not estimate, extrapolate or fill gaps with typical values. “Unknown” does not mean “no”.
If two reliable sources disagree, we store both claims, mark the field as conflicting and send it to editorial review. We do not silently pick one.
Data confidence states
Every important fact carries one of these states.
- verified
- Verified with official source
- confirmed
- Confirmed by clinic
- observed
- Observed from external source
- unverified
- Not independently confirmed
- unknown
- Unknown
- conflicting
- Sources disagree – under review
Verification levels
Verification is not a single tick. Each level is reached – and shown – separately.
- ListedDiscovered and added to findonline.care.
- Data checkedCore clinic information checked against source material.
- Company verifiedCompany verified against the official company registry.
- Healthcare provider verifiedHealthcare provider registration verified with the relevant authority.
- Professionals checkedPublicly named professionals checked against the official professional register.
- Fully verifiedEvery verification requirement for this market has been met.
Verification differs by country
What counts as “fully verified” is defined per market. A company registration alone does not mean a company is authorised to provide healthcare, so company and healthcare-provider checks are separate.

No “best clinic” ranking
We do not publish a numerical trust score or a “best clinic” ranking, because we do not yet have a transparent, reproducible methodology that would justify one. Lists are alphabetical by default. If we introduce scoring later, the full method will be published here first.
The order of the organic list can never be bought. Any sponsored placement would be shown in a separately labelled slot, not inside the comparison order.
Verification is never for sale
Clinics may in future pay us for referrals, advertising or premium profiles. A clinic cannot buy verification, regulatory status, a better factual rating, or the removal of legitimate negative information. Commercial relationships and verification are separate systems: verification is computed only from check results and the country's policy.
Corrections
If you are a clinic and believe information is wrong, send us a source and we will review it. Corrections are based on evidence, not on commercial status.
Keeping data fresh
Different facts go stale at different speeds, so each class of data has its own re-verification interval.
